Louise Pilditch
Details
How would you describe the work you do and why?
I feel my hinterland is the romantics and expressionism. I relate strongly to the sublime, this feeling of our transience and insignificance in the presence of nature. My instinct for mark making is a whole arm gesture, however small the mark, it has a feeling of energy.
For you what does being an artist mean?:
I paint because my creative process gives my life joy and purpose. I belong to the tribe who find solace in wild landscapes. I hope my paintings bring aspects of this solace to those who view them.
Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:
I am a painter of mainly, but not exclusively, landscape.
