How would you describe the work you do and why?

I work closely with clients for commissions, keeping them informed every step of the way so that they have all the input they want. For furniture, candlesticks, boxes and so on, I’m guided by the mood, material and style of the piece; my style is flexible but always nature-led, and with a strong preference for Arts & Crafts, art nouveau and Bloomsbury.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

Freedom to express my creativity according to my mood. I usually have several different projects to work on at once, so I can pick up whatever I’m in tune with each day. I also like the parameters imposed by working to order, so I can explore every facet of my personality. I really enjoy working with clients, and meeting customers at fairs and markets.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

I’m a decorative artist, wildlife artist and pet portraitist. I work to commission and also snap up unwanted furniture and household items to grant them a new lease of life.

Your practice & activities include e.g workshops, teaching:

I work from home (in my kitchen), and obviously on site for murals etc. I’d love to try teaching but don’t feel I’m at that point yet.

CV & Education, relevant & leading to your artistic practice:

Hereford College of Arts (many years ago!) and a lifetime of fitting in artistic practice whenever and wherever possible around family commitments, growing in the last few years as my available time has expanded.

Exhibitions in the last 3 years:

h.Art 2025 at the Lion Ballroom. Numerous fairs and markets, including Clem’s fair in Wiltshire twice last year.

Your gallery outlets/stockists:

My website, and in-person sales.
