How would you describe the work you do and why?

I draw deep inspiration from the rhythm of the seasons, the intersection of: nature and land use, art and traditional craft. My ideas are usually formed during a moment of awe, which I am sometimes able to capture on camera, but often, even nature moves to fast and the glimpse will have to do. Utilizing earth pigments, safe inks, harvested and natural materials, I strive to make art that is conscientious but beautiful: more natural, less wasteful, and I try to re-use and recycle materials.

For you what does being an artist mean?:

An artist is someone who feels the need to create, with the hope that their creation emotionally impacts another human being.

Describe what you call yourself/your practice?:

Living in Worcestershire for over 20 years has enchanted and inspired, not only my practice, but me as a person. The process of caring for and restoring the countryside, and the British passion for gardening and nature is both addictive and revitalising. I find joy in learning new techniques in both art and craft from those who are master artists in their own specialities. I'm a mixed media artist, who highlights the beauty in nature through form, color and composition.
